AI for retail and e-commerce in Canada is no longer limited to the largest chains. Platforms such as Shopify and Salesforce now ship AI features out of the box, and mid-size retailers are asking what to build beyond them: product data for thousands of SKUs, forecasts that respect regional and seasonal demand, and service that can actually look up an order.
Canada adds its own requirements. Product pages and customer communications for Québec must be available in French, marketing email needs consent under CASL, and personalization has to respect PIPEDA and Law 25. Retailers that design for those rules up front avoid rebuilding later and earn more trust from customers.
